On Saturday June 6th Speedway Auto Parts, Ltd. hosted a recycling event at 1301 N. Herkimer St. in Joliet, Il.
The event was broadcasted live by WJOL’s Phil Cantu and Dave Margliano. The event was part of the the radio station’s
annual “green” campaign. Speedway participated by accepting automotive recycling items such as tires, used oil,
antifreeze and other automotive fluids needed to be recycled in order to protect the environment.
Speedway decided to partner with the radio station to help the Joliet community dispense of these materials and to help
promote that they are one of the first “green” yards in Will County. Currently, they participated in the Illinois Green Car Program which is
accredited by the national Automotive Recycling Association. Speedway was required to meet seven environmental, safety, business and

100 gallons of used oil, 20 gallons of antifreeze and 25 batteries,” explained Sean Krause, Co-owner of Speedway Auto Parts, Ltd.
The company will appropriately discard these hazardous wastes within their company network that will be in compliance
with the proper laws and regulations of the state.
Speedway is celebrating their 40 years in business this year and continues to offer the community with any of their
used automotive parts needs. The company also contiues to give back to the community by supporting various
governmental and non-profit agencies of the Joliet area.
